At Align Canine Mold Detection, we believe that finding mold is only one piece of a much larger puzzle.

Align Canine Mold Detection founder, Andi Hembroff, has spent years working within the environmental illness and indoor air quality community, educating homeowners, healthcare providers, and environmental professionals about the strengths and limitations of various testing and inspection methods. Through her work in environmental diagnostics and laboratory testing, she has developed a practical understanding of how different tools—from visual inspections and canine detection to air, dust, surface, and mycotoxin testing—fit together within a comprehensive investigative process.

This perspective shapes everything we do. Rather than viewing canine detection as a standalone solution, we see it as one tool within a thoughtful, strategic order of operations designed to help families make informed decisions, avoid unnecessary expenses, and focus resources where they matter most.

Our goal is not simply to identify potential concerns. Our goal is to help families move forward with clarity, confidence, and a deeper understanding of their environment.

Willow wasn't chosen at random.

She comes from generations of dogs selectively bred for scent work. Throughout her family tree are working dogs serving as police K9s, explosives detection dogs, narcotics detection dogs, and search-and-rescue partners—dogs trusted to locate odors that humans simply cannot detect.

Those same natural abilities live in Willow.

However, a successful detection dog is only one half of the equation. Effective odor detection depends on the strength of the handler-dog partnership. While Willow's genetics and training provide the foundation, her success also depends on a handler who understands canine behavior, scent theory, search strategies, and how to accurately interpret and communicate her alerts.

For this reason, Align Canine Mold Detection places equal emphasis on both canine and handler development. Peter participates in ongoing training and continuing education designed to strengthen both his skills as a handler and Willow's performance as a detection dog.

We intentionally work with experienced local K9 trainers while also collaborating with canine detection professionals from across the country and around the world. No single trainer, handler, or organization holds all the knowledge. By learning from a diverse network of professionals with different backgrounds and specialties, we continue to refine our methods, challenge our assumptions, and strengthen our capabilities as a detection team.
